All parents must be notified and provide consent for their child to have the ability to use additional services within the Google Workspace for Education and some other digital instructional tools. Los Angeles Unified (LAUSD) is committed to protecting student privacy and data security, which requires strict adherence to this protocol. It is imperative that all parents and guardians are fully informed that their student will not have access to Google applications such as YouTube and others until the parent or guardian has signed the consent form. Detailed information is available through the "Google Parental Consent Form".
Core Services: Students will continue to have access to Google's Core Services such as Google Drive, Gmail, Docs, Slides, and other core apps.
Additional Services: By signing the consent form, students may have access to Google's "Additional Services" such as Applied Digital Skills, Colab, Google Arts and Culture, Google Bookmarks, Google Books, Google Maps, Google My Maps, Google News, Google Photos, Google Translate, YouTube, and Google Earth.
Parents can complete the consent form through the Parent Portal or by completing the form and submitting it to the Attendance Office. A step-by step guide is provided here to assist you with completing the process in the parent portal.
